2020 Midwest Witches Conference Update

Posted on July 20, 2020October 13, 2020

Hello Everyone,

It is with great disappointment, that we are communicating the cancellation of the 2020 Midwest Witches Conference in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

These past few months have been unpredictable in many ways, and while we continued to watch and evaluate, it became abundantly clear that we would be joining the list of other events, negatively impacted by COVID-19. We considered many options and alternatives, but it truly came down to the need to protect our community and do what was right. Additionally, since all ticket sales to date have been through Event Brite, we will be working with that service to provide refunds to the purchasers.

However, we do have a silver lining to share! Both our Key Note Speaker, Laura Tempest Zakroff, and our much anticipated band, Tuatha Dea, have agreed to be a part of our 2021 Midwest Witches Conference & Witches Ball, scheduled for Saturday, October 2nd 2021! Remember to book this on your calendars and we look forward to seeing all of you there!

Thank you for your kindness and understanding during this time. If you have questions, please reach out to Deb, Laurie, and Jennifer at: MidwestWitchesConference@gmail.com

Merry Meet, Merry Part and Merry Meet Again!

What to wear to the Masquerade Ball – Midwest Witches Conference

Posted on February 22, 2020April 5, 2020

Hats, crowns, wings, capes. Maybe you’re thinking a renaissance faire or steam punk inspired outfit. Or you have an awesome dress, or a zuit suit you bought to bring in the new decade.

Be as elaborate and extravagant or as simple as you would like. Remember you will need to be able to dance as we have an awesome band – Tuatha Dea.

Suggestions on where to buy items:

  • Zhanna’s Jewels
  • Thrift stores (Stuff etc, Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc)
  • Ragstock
  • Garage sales
  • Amazon
  • Renaissance Faires – Amana, IA – Des Moines, IA – Quad Cities,IA/IL
  • Grab the sewing machine (or someone who knows how to use it)
